The Tars are the most offensive ball club since Katie Winters left the women's soccer team. Friday night in Kentfield, the Marin football team took its fifth straight win of the season. The game was dominated by the Tar's flashy offense which in turn was dominated by the flashy halfback Dean Lazzarini. . . Some interesting highlights of the game were Bill Hickerson's interception and return of a Gator pass which set up one of the Marin scores and Jim Crisp's blocking or deflecting of four pass attempts.
This was the scene yesterday morning as College of Marin football coach Dick Read greeted 37 candidates for the Tars' first team meeting of the season. Read expects more than 25 more prospects by the time the school opens next Tuesday. After yesterday's initial chalk talk, the Tars opened field practice today. Said Read: "We appear to be strong in some spots, but weak in others; we'll know more next week when our squad is at full strength."
It's four hands battling for the football as College of Marin end Len Pieri and Sierra defender Fred Ficher jump for what turned out to be an incomplete pass
